Emily Rogers

Program Specialist, Sojourns
"As I’ve watched my grandparents age, one doing so with a chronic condition, I have grown passionate in the field of Palliative Care. My work at the Foundation has given me the opportunity to learn more about doctors and other professionals trained in palliative care and share that knowledge with my loved ones. I am able to picture them, and others like them, in every program and project that we support. Knowing that the work we do truly impacts people means everything to me."

Emily has worked for the Cambia brand for more than 9 years. She began her journey in the Customer Service Department and worked her way up through the Ethics and Integrated Strategy Management Departments, before landing with the Foundation. During this time, she was also fortunate enough to gain experience working directly with patients and providers in the School of Medicine at the University of Utah.  The variety of work that she was responsible for throughout her previous tenures, including but not limited to event planning and logistics, large scale organizational projects, and direct customer experience, have prepared her to manage the project plan of the Sojourns Scholar Program.

Emily completed her bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Utah in 2012.  She also holds an associate degree in American Sign Language Interpreting.  Since moving to Portland, she has completed an intensive Project Management Program at Portland State University.  Emily has done extensive work in dog training to certify her dog, Archi, as a registered therapy dog. When she is not in the office, she is volunteering with Archi in a program at her local library that helps build kids into confident readers. She also sits on the Ambassador board for the Oregon Historical Society and works to help organize events and educate the public on Oregon’s rich history.
